Upgrade Samsung Infuse 4G I997 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean

If you are hoping that you will soon get an Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean official update for your Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997, then stop doing that because it won’t happen. Are you disappointed? Well, I guess you are but there’s another way for your Samsung Infuse 4G to get the Jelly Bean running on it via a custom ROM which is so called CodeName Android. It is a stock Android 4.1.1 build JRO03L and developed by XDA Developers member Th3Bill. Well the good news is that several users after using it has reported that this ROM works well, has a feather touch experience and fast too in terms of operating over different Apps.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on everyone’s lips and with good reason. The update brings a number of features and enhancements, such as a smoother interface, advanced search functionality, Google Now for automated information, a better Android keyboard, and an improved notification menu.Unfortunately, this update might not make it to all Android devices, but thanks to the hardworking folks at XDA Developers, almost everyone can get a taste of the update, including Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 users.

You can thank developer scott.hart.bti for bringing the unofficial CyanogenMod 10 to your devices.Almost everything that works in Ice Cream Sandwich works in this ROM, but there are still a few issues that the developers are working out, such as the GPS being laggy or freezing when it is used and Project Butter being uncooperative. Rest assured that the developers are hard at work, so these issues should be fixed in no time.

Samsung Infuse 4G I997 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean includes lot of features such as improved notification bar, smart keyboard, offline voice typing, new camera app etc. That’s why we all want to run this latest update on their own devices. But as you might have heard that android Jelly Bean update won't be rolling out for all the Android devices. When you are open source to developers, Android could be modded & ported in the form of custom ROM holiday to a device which isn’t getting JB update.

Even when you’ve owned Samsung Infuse 4G, you are able to upgrade its firmware to Jelly bean via Cyanogenmod. Because of XDA senior memberscott.hart.bti who has ported & released Cyanogenmod 10 unofficially for AT&T Infuse 4G. Based on him, almost everything is working which fits in ICS. Since the ROM continues to be under development, it might contain some bugs (like GPS, which may be laggy for this particular release) But don’t worry, it will likely be fixed soon as development continues.
